Message-ID: Date: 25 Sep 90 17:14:37 GMT Sender: oivindt@ulrik.uio.no (Oivind Toien) Distribution: comp Organization: University of Oslo, Norway Lines: 27 Our Biology department is going to buy a number of microchannel ethernet cards to run with PC-NFS. We are considering the 3C523 and WD8003E/A cards. The WD-card seems to need some packet-drivers with a cumbersome installation. The 3Com card is older but the PC-NFS installation program seems to support this card in a straightforward manner. My question is: Has the 3Com card any disadvantages compared to the WD-card (speed, later compatibility etc) ? Other recommended microchannel cards to run with PC-NFS in a straightforward manner? How does the corresponding AT-bus cards compare to this (we are going to buy some of those as well) ? Thanks in advance.
