I have a Gateway 2000 25MHz 386, with the two diskettes, a 125MB tape drive, a 300MB ESDI, SVGA, and 8MB on the motherboard. I had an extra Intel Above Board Plus 8 board lying around, populated with 8 MB of 80ns chips. I want to stick that into the Gateway so that I can get 16MB RAM in my machine. Problem is that the CMOS SETUP does not recognize the Intel Above Board RAM. No errors are reported, but the extra 8MB does not show up. I run UNIX(r) SVR3.2 on that machine (no MSDOS currently set up). From reading the docs on the Intel Above Board, it did not appear that I had to do any special set up for UNIX. Does any one know what I can do to get that extra RAM? Thanks for your help. Saify Lanewala ... att!attunix!stl
