Recently I requested recommendations for GIF viewers.  Here is a brief
summary.

The following programs were suggested:
picem     vpic28    cshow811    vuimg    vugif

vpic   and    cshow   received the greatest number of recommendations.

I found the programs as follows (all on simtel20, available from the two
listserv sites):
