Someone else has already responded by mentioning UUPC, but having used UUPC for a while and happily traded it in for a much better product, I thought I'd tell you what that is. UMCP\QM is a gateway product from Information Electronics that connects the QuickMail e-mail system on the Mac to the Internet via uucp dialup (or direct serial) connections. It combines the best of both worlds... it's the flexibility and power of a connection to the worldwide mail networks, with the ease of use of a superb Macintosh mail system. If you have any questions about UMCP\QM, I'd be happy to answer them, or you can contact Information Electronics yourself at 607-257-5840 (or by fax at 607-257-0073, or e-mail at infoelect@ie.com). I have been using UMCP\QM since before its release, and I've been beta testing it all that time. I use it VERY actively, and I'm VERY pleased with it. For a demo... send me mail at mha@baka.uucp, my UMCP\QM address. The message will arrive on my Macintosh desktop in my QuickMail window, and I'll respond from there. -- Mark H.
