I'm using an AST Mac286 Card. AST has turned the product over to Orange Micro,
Inc, 1400 N Lakeview Ave, Anaheim, CA 92807 714-779-2772 or 800-223-8029.
The AST version computes like an AT, but screen i/o and disk i/o are
a bit slow (perhaps faster than SoftPC on a MacII). AST version was
not as well integrated into the Mac environment as SoftPC. However, takes
less memory and allows a 5.25" floppy to be connected.

I talked to Orange and they described an improved series of cards for the
MacII. Certainly seems like the thing to check for speed. There was also
an offering for SE's (8086) which a friend liked just fine-- she wanted
both an XT and a Mac without having two machines on her desk, told me
she switched back an forth as needed.

Perhaps someone else knows the name of another card vendor (I've seen
article's but...)
