Message-ID: <1990Sep25.162634.7424@cunixf.cc.columbia.edu> Date: 25 Sep 90 16:26:34 GMT Sender: news@cunixf.cc.columbia.edu (The Daily News) Distribution: usa Organization: Columbia University Lines: 25 Hi. I need to have a backup system for my 160MB file server hard disk. A couple of questions: - Is "mirroring" of hard disk data onto an external backup drive possible? - How effective/reliable is it? - Do the internal and external drives need to be the same size EXACTLY? - What s/ware h/ware combination works best? Are removable cartridge hard drives or optical drives available in 160MB size? - What is the recommended removable disk system? My need in this case is to use the removable cartridges/drives for sending large graphic data files overseas by courier than over expensive telephone connections. These would be mostly 24-bit color images scanned in or designed in Letraset s/ware or Photoshop. Your suggestions and recommendations are extremely valuable to me. Thank you. Imran Anwar
