If the 512 has the 64k ROM set and an 800k floppy, there are a number of kits available. I have used the NewLife 1 board on several machines. This provides a SCSI port, plus the capability to upgrade the Mac to as much as 4M of memory. The upgraded machine is supposed to be 20% faster than a MacPlus. The board is available from: Newbridge Microsystems 603 March Road Kanata, Ontario K2K 2M5 Canada Tel. (613) 592 0714 The board has a retail price of $360 Canadian, and you can order direct, if need be (they do VISA etc.). Dove also do similar upgrades, but I believe that the NewLife board is faster, and I do not know if the Dove board will support 4M of memory. The NewLife board uses their own custom chip to do all the clever stuff.
