About 10 minutes ago I mentioned that I'd written a "loginhook" program to
take care of /usr/adm/wtmp and /usr/adm/lastlog.  And I said

Well, that didn't take long.  I've already been told about the "MOTD"
and "LogoutHook" programs, available in the NeXT archives on
sonata.cc.purdue.edu.  Thanks for the info.
