A/UX 2.0 only supports Phase II EtherTalk!  If you don't
have a FastPath (being at excelan you _should_ be able to 
get one...) or another Mac running MacOS and the AppleTalk
Router software from Apple, or some other transition
software or finally upgrade your network to Phase II.  The
performance gain is worth the upgrade.
