I'm looking for a program called acucntrl.  I've checked the
comp.sources.unix and comp.sources.misc archives and can't find it -
perhaps it doesn't exist?

I'm told that acucntrl provides a uugetty equivalent, but it allows
you to use your existing getty.  This may not actually be what I need.
what I _want to do_ is have a uugetty that does autobauding.  The
uugetty that I've tried (uutty from comp.sources.unix) works on my
system, but doesn't provide autobauding.

If anyone has information about this package - or one that would do
the same sort of thing - I'd very much appreciate it if you'd drop me
a line and point me in the right direction.
