Keywords: PUSER, p_cpu, p_nice Message-ID: <154@inews.intel.com> Date: 21 Sep 90 17:17:35 GMT Sender: news@inews.intel.com Organization: Intel Corp, Chandler, AZ Lines: 12 Leffler et al's BSD book gives the process-priority formulae (pp.86ff), but there's no way a process with positive PUSER and p_nice can have a negative p_prio with those eqn's (in fact, it's stated that 4.3bsd clamps the upper limit to 127 as well). However, Ultrix' numbers are often negative, sometimes _very_ negative (~-25) even for heavily- niced processes. Could someone show Ultrix' formulae for process priority? --Blair "Yeah, what DID happen to comp.unix.wizards...?"
