If we added the option -t in xterm (xterm -t), then tektronix window is created successfully on the VAX Station. Also a DECterm can be created successfully from VAX Station on Power Station. The SE of IBM said "We cannot understand the meaning of the error message - Request code 1, minor code 0, serial #70 resource id -2, because we cannot find it in the manual" ..... There is no problem in creating a xterm (DECterm) between VAX Station and Sparc Station (SUN OS 4.0.3C + X11R4 MIT original) and also between Power Station and Sparc Station. The only problem in creating a xterm is the combination of Power Station (AIXwindow) as client and VAX Station (DECwindow) as server. Aren't DECwindow (X11R3 compliant) and AIXwindow (X11R3 compliant) compatible ? Any suggestions and comments are appreciated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Takashi Ichihara RIKEN (The Institute of Physical and Chemical Research) 2-1 Hirosawa, Wako, Saitama, 351-01 Japan [Internet] Ichihara@rik835.riken.go.jp [HEPnet/SPAN] RIKEN::Ichihara (41910::Ichihara) [FAX (G3)] (81) 484-62-4641 -------------------------------------------------------------------------
