We are all responsible for the qualities of our own lives and have to work to improve them the extent that we can. I know you're not making a case for careless grooming and a foul personality and then throwing yourself in the hands of God to help you find a mate. A belief in help from God is fine, but in practice you can wait a very long time for Him to deliver.
