Much of the FDA delays can be explained by unwillingness to change the existing system. Anyone who's been a member of the AIDS Drug of the Month club over the last few years knows that there's a lot of junk out there, and there's a lot of evil people who'd like to take money away from desperate people, so SOME of the FDA's role makes sense; they just took it too far. I say this not to excuse the FDA but to point out that our argument with them is one of degree, not kind. If a real cure turns up, everyone will know about it in short order. -- Uucp: ...{gatech,ames,rutgers}!ncar!asuvax!stjhmc!204!462!Greg2 Internet: Greg2@f462.n204.z1.fidonet.org
