I just read that the USS La Salle, our command ship in the Middle East
is nicknamed "The Great White Ghost" for her all white paint scheme, 
and a B+W photo which verifies this.

Query:  Is it still this color?  I saw some pics on the news taken
        aboard the ship itself and don't recall noticing a great deal of white.
        Is there some reason for this white color scheme other than
        marking our command ship for enemy aircrafte?
