The IEEE Standards Board approved IEEE 802.3i on September 28, 1990.
IEEE 802.3i is a supplement to IEEE Std-1989 which covers Type 10BASE-T
MAUs and media.  Type 10BASE-T MAUs operate at 10 Mbps over twisted-pair.

The IEEE 802.3i standard was sponsered by the Technical Committee on
Computer Communications of the IEEE Computer Society.
