I am interested in the typical mean time between failure (MTBF) of ethernet lans in gereral. I realize that this is probably very hardware and configuration dependant, and that failures may only be partial (e.g single node isolation). Does anyone know of any studies or documents relating to ethernet reliability? (or the relative reliability of various lans?)
