I have decided to take the plunge and get a 9600 baud modem.
I need an HST because most of my local BBSs use HST.

However, after I graduate, I'm gonna hafta be searching for a UUCP feed.
So, a USR dual standard seems the way to go.

Some questions:
(a) does the V.32(V.42bis) work with UUCP/USENET
(b) what features should I get, i.e. MNP, V.42, V.42bis, compression, etc?
    Money is no object (to an extent)
I've never deailt with anything more than your generic hayes-compataible
2400 baud modem, so I'm rather clueless on all this stuff.
What IS MNP, V.32, V.42, V.42bis, etc?
(c) what is the best place to get one from?

Any help will be gratly appreciated!
