The HST modem from USRobotics won't talk to the T2500 at anything faster than 2400 bps. The HST doesn't have V.32. Now if you have a USRobotics HST-Dual, then it works fine. We have both here -- stand-alone T2500s and HST-Duals (stand-alone and rackmount). I tested the V.32 connections and it works fine with the Dual and the T2500. BTW, the HST-Dual has V.32 in addition to the asymetrical HST protocol.
