Message-ID: <10716@hubcap.clemson.edu> Date: 1 Oct 90 23:20:04 GMT Organization: Clemson University, Clemson, SC Lines: 14 I am looking for a way to test the reliability of diskettes. is there some program out there, or a methodology to use for testing them. I have an idea to write to every available byte on a disk, then erase the disk, then write, then erase, ... keeping count of how many writes were successfully completed. I can use these numbers to compare name brand diskettes against el cheapos. Is this a valid method of testing, or just a way to really damage my read/write heads with worthless overuse ??? I wanted to test the fake 1.44 megs against the real 1.44's. Thank You. Chris Behrens ChrisB@Hubcap.Clemson.Edu
