Thanks to the people who pointed me to the -f hsfs option of mount.

Now the real question: has anybody managed to read any High Sierra (ISO
9660) disk, other than Sun's CD, simply by mounting?

Or is it the case, as I suspect, that CD specific software is needed to
make sense of the CD, and such software is normally available only for
MS-DOS?

We have the player, and I would not like to spend money buying a CD,
only to find the data is inaccessible.
