Anyway, the subject line says it all. We are looking to tie four or more computers into a laser printer. We would like to have the device spool and arbitrate print jobs automagically, and, as a bonus, it would be nice if the device could be used to transfer files. However, if the device allows file sharing it must be compatable with share.exe. Finally, the device should be compatable with any real network that we might install at a later time. Price should be in the $100 per port range. So, my question is, has anyone used such a device and, if so, would be willing to provide recomendations. Also, I wonder if cheap networks might be able to do a similar job--keep in mind that we cannot at present dedicate a machine as a server. All comments are welcome--even flames. Thanks, -tom. -- =============================================================================== webb@uhccux.uhcc.Hawaii.edu "The first duty in life is to assume a pose.
