I had distributed some software as public domain. When people started sending me changes, I learned that I could not use their contributions without accepting their copyright privileges. That meant that if I distributed the software including their changes, they could make a claim for royalties. I am now in the process of getting signed documents getting permission to use these changes, and am planning on applying the GNU copyright on future versions. Once the GNU copyright is applied, I no longer must be concerned about getting permission from each contributing author. -David- david@wubios.wustl.edu ^ Mr. David J.
