From the manual:

     -Bbinding Specify whether bindings of libraries for  linking
               are   static   or   dynamic,   indicating  whether
               libraries are non-shared or shared, respectively.

As Andrew uses its own dynamic loading you'll get into great trouble if
another dynamic loader gets in your way.
