I'm looking for a program (or model) that will trap all I/O that comes in to a
tty, and allows me to reference it in a clean and orderly fashion, almost
immediately.  Those of you who live in the VM world know of such a gizmo as
IUCV handling.  I'd like to emulate that, or come as close to it as possible.
