The perfect thread for a really off the wall request or two: I run my Amiga 2000 on edge to the left of a standard cheapo $99 computer desk (it wouldn't fit with the monitor in the cpu cubbyhole of the desk, so it sits on a cinderblock beside the desk). This has led to a couple of items on my wish list for the tower 3500 Amiga of firm rumor. First, while the mouse and commercial joystick cables are long enough for someone farsighted to work at a normal 4' from the screen, and even the keyboard will reach, the monitor cable is snug enough to require the block under the console, and the keyboard cable is too short to allow the keyboard to sit in a normal typing position on the desk, since the wire joins the right end of the keyboard from six inches down and two feet left on the console. How about another two feet of slack in all the wires, guys? It may cost a bit, but it is worth the perceived quality you gain by not being a constant irritation to the customers. Second, I miss my keyboard garage (in the other room); it kept the keyboard out of reach of cat paws and toddler mischief. How about a standard mounting bracket on the tower that lets me store the keyboard out of harm's way when not in use? Either a way to stand it on edge, or a sheath into which it can be slipped. Third, if you're going to keep selling fur and food magnet keyboards, how about selling them standard with one of these neat plastic covers? My stuck key problems stopped when I sealed the keyboard in one of these safe sex covers, because no more crud filters down to attach itself to the keystems and jam them up. Just some more cheap advice. Kent, the man from xanth.
