I filed an APR on this way back in the spring, and even got a reply later in
the summer saying it would be fixed in a future release.

I wrote a unix plot program that uses gpr a while back.  You can get it by
anonymous ftp from dabo.ifs.umich.edu, file 'aplot.c'.
