Is it too much to ask to keep product competitive? Every other manufacturer in the biz does. Killing the '286 doesn't count as non-support because '386 machines can run '286 programs, much like a '816 runs 6502 programs. It provides an incentive for some people to upgrade. I did. I'm sorry I did, but that's not at issue here. But it's not to be. This is the only place for discussion of Apple IIs. Things will be vile and nasty until Apple changes its mind (unlikely) or it's all been over for a while.
