  If your assumption were true, TOS were not able to print
  bitmap graphics ! But You and I know TOS was able to do that !
  So the only conclusion is TOS doesnot add/convert something.
  So you have to reconsider your previous paragraph

  Do you really can trust your files?
  Did you write a simple test program for that ?
  (eg. printf("------\r!!!!!!\n") )
