Here's a bug that is worth letting everyone know:

    cd /u
    tar cvf /dev/nrctp arai

will NOT put all files & directories under /u/arai on the tape.
Just found that out recently.  Evidently "tar cvf /dev/nrctp /u/arai"
would be OK.

QUESTION:  Is "cd /u/arai ; tar cvf /dev/nrctp ." safe?  Have you ever had
any trouble with this form of tar command?

P.S.: According to Concurrent (Japan), this is NOT fixed in RTU 5.0

I was recently bitten by this bug, after making a tape for someone to bring
overseas;  when he arrived, he called me to complain that I had not put all the
files on the tape!
