From: ALRANDY@nve.mcsr.olemiss.edu Date: 2 Oct 90 02:31:57 GMT Subject: domain name service & BIND Need to get a 5400 to query campus nameserver for domain name resolution. Anybody know how I can get this to happen ? Any problems ? BTW, it's a 68020 MC-5400 running RTU v4.0 Randy Bind is supported starting with RTU 5.0 and RTnet-TCP 2.5, both of which were released quite some time ago. If you have a service contract, and haven't received your update, scream bloody murder (not to me, I can't help, but to your sales rep and up the ladder as far as you can go). And no, we will not back-port it, although (I believe) RTnet-TCP 2.5 will install on 4.0 (or on 4.something -- your salescritter has the info), but the library that contains the resolver is not part of the TCP kit (it's in libc). The get*by*() routines were merged with the YP versions so that they search in the order .
