To what extent does the pending (or extent) ABI standard guarantee the
portability of applications ? Are there caveats on the degree of
compatibility?. For example, will screen oriented programs work transparently,
and will the foggy ioctl interface to async serial lines be a forgotten
problem of the dark ages ???

Or as usual, caveat buyer.	 (my latin is rusty)
