I have several questions I have hesitated to ask because I know they will waste people's time. Some of my questions are covered in the proposed FAQ list, but here are some more: 1) Is there a list of ftp libraries? I have found some by perusing a few dozen previous messages, but a complete list would be helpful. 2) Is there such a thing as a delta-manual for 28 to 48 transition (I read the recent message about Dr. Wickes' book on transitions, and I plan to get that, but a short snappy book on the differences between the 28 and the 48 would be helpful on its own). 3) Most of the programs I have seen listed here and on the one ftp library I have perused have been, well, more programmer-oriented than mathematical-end-user oriented. I have about 50 or so programs which are more mathematical, so they may be of less interest to the people reading this forum. I know of the existence of some first-rate special functions software written for the 28 by Dr. Henry Thacher. Is there a depot specifically for mathematical applications software? I would be happy to post mine there and to see if Dr. Thacher would post his there. That is, as soon as I get a cable for my 48 and the 28->48 receiving program going. 4) Several programs recieve special mention (e.g. Dr. Wickes' ->ASC (?)) but I have no idea where to find them. A list of the libraries with some idea of the contents, not just their location, might help with questions like these. -- ======== Robert Corless, Applied Mathematics, University of Western Ontario ======== London, Ontario, Canada N6A 5B9 e-mail : RCORLESS@uwovax.uwo.ca
