I think that the recent posting by Gary Snethan on adding temperature
is the most articulate expression of what many frustrated users are
feeling.  I had been convinced that the behavior of the 48 is correct,
but I now agree that 1_C + 1_C = 2_C. The multiplication example proves
that the 48 is at least inconsistant.
0_C is just as good a reference point as 0 volts!
