Most ESDI drives has the bad-sector info recorded on two sectors on the disk. I have understand that this controller can't read the bad-sector information that is stored on the harddisk. Does this controller destroy the bad-sector info under low-level formatting or is the info 'protected' ? Is there an utility program that can read the bad-sector info and use it when l-l formatting ? ---- Lars Nilsson Ericsson Telecom AB , Sweden Phone: + 46 (8) 719 7308 Fax: + 46 (8) 645 60 76 INTERNET: etxsral@tnetxa.ericsson.se FIDONET : Lars Nilsson at 2:201/108.7 Ericsson Corporate Network: VAX-MAIL: TNETXA::ETXSRAL MEMO: ERI.ETX.ETXSRAL IBM : ETXSRAL at LMEL ETXSRAL at LMES
