Wouldn't boot, etc. As it happens, I had done a lot of surgery to inrease its battery life. Namely, took out the four small NICADS and their plastic housing, and crammed 4 big 4 ampere-hour size D nicads in there. It was getting 16 hours between charges. (But that's in the days before backlit screens.) Anyway, it failed later, I think not because of my mauling it. I sent it back -- lots of visible signs of tampering, but they just sent a new one. Bet they didn't look inside. Maybe my endorsement is corrupt now. The researchers at Toshiba liked my AI theories so much they gave MIT a chair, so now I'm the Toshiba Professor of Media Arts and Sciences. They gave me a T100XE, too. Nice, but too heavy (well, only 6 pounds). I'm teasing them to make it lighter.
