Not it it's difficult, but that you lose any warranty on the board. I upgraded my Mac II to a IIfx a couple of months ago, and let an Apple Authorized dealer do the install. Good thing too, since the FX board was bad; so, I got a new one for free. Had I installed it myself, and then found it was bad, there possibly could have been claims that I broke it while installing, and not be covered. I figure, if you're going to spend the money for the upgrade, might as well let the dealer do the install, since it's included in the price.
