Okay, okay... so I missed a few sentences in the docs.  The beeping
upon startup is supposed to happen (thanks to Meta Sienkiewicz for
telling me)

But I might have a new problem.  I was trying to get a startup desk
picture going, and when screen redraws are needed, the picture gets
all messed up; sections are misplaced horizontally.  I tried the
"StartupDesk" init from Sumex, and another person with an SE/30
tried something called (I believe) "DeskPict" or such, and he had
the same problem.  Is there some way to get a startup desk on the
built-in SE/30 monitor???
