CD-Rom drive and IIci, but I have never experienced this problem. The drive will eject the cartriage half-way when you eject it. Then if you left it in, it will be re-loaded when the computer starts up. I don't know what exactly is going wrong in your combination. Could there be something wrong in your CD-ROM, like Apple's first press of 'Discy Business' ?
