Will I be able to use > this 100 Meg drive internally? It is possible to put a full-height drive in your macintosh. You need to buy a special mounting bracket to replace the one currently supporting your floppy drive and the half-height hard disk. I currently have a 140MB (formatted) Micropolis in mine. I got my mounting bracket from Software (&hardware) that Fits. You can find their ads in MacUser (I think they've stopped advertising in MacWorld). One catch: The holes already drilled in the mounting bracket (for screws) aren't guaranteed to match the holes in the sides of the drive. I fixed this by having a friend w/a drill press put some correctly positioned holes in the mounting bracket. Other than that, it's pretty much the same as putting in a half-height drive. BTW: if your 40MB drive is of the 3.5 inch variety, you may be able to use both at the same time ... post a question to work out cabling/power supply issues 'cause I'm not sure how to link up SCSI devices w/the cables that hook up to internal hard disks. One last thing: From my one experience with the people at Software (Hardware) that Fits, they appear to be the most service-oriented mail order company that I've ever dealt with. --Brad ------------------------------------------------------------- Brad Hathaway work phone: (412) 268-8454 email:bh11@andrew.cmu.edu -------------------------------------------------------------
