How do you install it ?

I have one from a system down awaiting repair, and I want to
put it on our working system.

Which slot does it go into ? How do it know it is working ? (the
system it came from burnt up, so I don't know if it is functional ).

There are some lights on the board. Is there anything that indicates
life ?
