He tells me that after 18 months (since new), the backlighting on the screen has failed. He can still see characters on the screen, but no backlight. The local authorised repair shop has quoted him $1075 for a new screen, $75 labor, plus the cost of a new *lcd cable*. He says, and i agree, that this is ridiculous, given that you can buy a used SuperSport 286 for $1500 or so now! Any suggestions/ideas?
