Isn't IEEE doing some useful work here? I saw somewhere that they planned to maked the POSIX documents available on CD-ROM, and if things went well, go on with other IEEE standards. Can anyone confirm this? Indeed, CD-ROM seems to be a reasonable compromise: the standards organization can recoup their costs, and the user can (hopefully) 'use' the texts, not only read them.
