Can anyone give some basic references on exploring the dynamics of 
integral equations (i.e. the renewal equation):

   h(t) = f(t) + Integral from 0 to t of  h(t-u)f(u)du

   f(t) is a p.d.f.

Where the last integral is a convolution operation. I'm interested in
cases where the convolution can not be solved by simple Laplace Transforms.
