(1) I noticed in the MSWord for Windows v.1.1 (a.k.a. WinWord) that there's a SAVE file option to save files as a MS Word file for Macintosh (a.k.a. MacWord). Is there a softwares/hardwares/conversion-procedure to save that MacWord file onto a Macintosh formatted disk and open the MacWord file using the MSWord for Macintosh? I'm also interested in MacWord-file-to- WinWord-file conversion. (Note: I have tried sending the WinWord file to a UNIX host as a binary, then receiving it back onto a Mac as a MacBinary file--No success either). (2) I have a difficult time printing from an IBM PS/2 model 70 to an Apple Laser IINTX printer using MS Windows 3.0 --no success. Here are my connections: Printer's RS-232 port (25-pins) to PS/2's COM1 port (using a null modem connection). I also tried the LPT1 port several times. The reason for the switch to COM1 is because in the printer's USER MANUAL has specific instructions to install the printer to a MS-DOS environment. I used these commands to assign the COM port: MODE COM1:96,N,7,1,P MODE LPT1:=COM1: I set the printer's SWITCHES so that it will support MS-DOS 's POSTSCRIPT. And I also set the Windows' data transfer rate at 9600 Baud. I made sure that both printer and Windows are using the same handshake (i.e. XON/XOFF). Has anyone with a PC-to- AppleLaserPrinter successfully tried this? I'm also interested in connecting the PS/2 to AppleTalk so that the PS/2 can use other printers. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.
