Over the weekend we installed SunOS4.1 and since then xdm does not start up properly on reboot of a machine --- no X server is started. Doing a ps shows that the parent xdm is running but there is no child xdm and no X server. If I then kill that xdm and invoke another one manually it comes up fully (With the X server running and a login widget displayed). I know sun changed something with the environment the rc scripts are run in but how would that stop xdm from working properly? cheers mark
