(The X Widow System?  Is that an extension to X that provides for
detecting the user's sex and killing men who happen to use it? :-)

A new visual class isn't necessary.  There is nothing incompatible with
the notion of any of the six visual classes on a 12-bit-deep screen.
The MIT sample server does not support 12-bit-deep screens, but
(if the hardware is cooperative) it wouldn't be too much work.
