Root) Organization: The Internet Lines: 20 i am the unlucky user of a vt1200, telnet-hosted by a decstation 5000 running Ultrix 4.0 with the dec supplied decwindows for that release. for various reasons, i prefer to run twm. i can't persuade the 5000 owner to go to R4. i made the r3 twm (from gatekeeper.dec.com) and enable foreign wms on the 1200. twm starts up fine, but no window takes any input. mouse-driven focus/unfocus has no real effect, although the pointer goes through the usual transformations. also, xlock won't work on the x-terminal. it makes me think there are some basic X concepts i'm missing with regard to configuration/operation of x-terminals. the sales people asserted it would be functionally exchangeable with a decstation (except for speed) but this seems completely false. any explanations or alternate approaches to using the vt1200 would be appreciated.
