Not sure, but this works for me: alias cwdcmd 'echo -n "^[]2;${HOST}:${cwd}^G^[]1;${HOST}^G"' Substitute ^G for a real ctrl-g and ^[ for a real esc. The part up to the first ^G sets the title, and the part after that set the icon label.
