Ed, you should check out Re-evaluation Counciling, or Co-counciling, a
spin-off.  It's not a model but an actual program consisting of a
period of training in being a councilor, and in being a councilee. 
People pair up and split their time, half spent one conciling the
other, then swap.  It's a good program and fellow councilors can be
found in many areas if you move.
